Relay Lever

‹› Installed position, refer to => [ Transmission Shift Lever/Relay

Lever, Installed Position ] See: Shift Mechanism Overview.

‹› Adjust the shift mechanism after installation. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ] See: Adjustments.

‹› From 03.07 the relay lever is plastic. Refer to => [ Plastic Relay Lever ] See: Shift Linkage/Shift Cable/Description and Operation.

Shift Unit

‹› Consists of the shift shaft and shift cover.

‹› The components cannot be separated from each other.

‹› Can be removed and installed with transmission installed.

‹› Gearshift shaft adapted together with the revised reverse gear shift fork bearing - item 5 -=> [ Reverse Gear Shift Fork ] See: Service and

Repair/Overhaul/Shift Forks.

Bushing

‹› For the selector shaft.

‹› Removing and installing, refer to - item 16 -=> [ Bushing ] See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Transmission Housing.

O-ring

‹› Insert into the groove on the shift cover.

‹› Install lubricated with gear oil.

‹› Always replace

Cap

‹› For the transmission breather.

Retaining Washer

‹› For the relay lever.

‹› Not needed with the plastic relay lever.

Selector Shaft Seal

‹› Replacing, refer to => [ Selector Shaft Seal ] See: Seals and Gaskets/Service and Repair/02Q Transmission/Selector Shaft Seal.
