Condition

The front passenger seat heater may be inoperative after the M3 (Passat) or VZ (Jetta, Golf) campaign is performed.

Technical Background

1).

The overload protection found in the campaign seat heater switch has an open circuit.

2).

A fracture of the strands in the seat heater may have occurred.

Affected chassis number ranges:

Golf/GTI: 1J_3_036883 to 1J_5_005853 

Passat: 3B_2_402046 to 3B_3_331308

Jetta Sedan: 9M_2_ 097493 to 9M_4_128467 

Jetta Wagon: 1J_2_483642 to 1J_5_016145
