Removing and Installing

Selector mechanism, removing and installing 

Removing 
-

Carefully lever the cover off the center console.

-

Then unscrew the shift lever knob with cover.

-

The rubber cover for the shift lever housing must be removed (arrows).

-

Now remove the shift lever housing securing nuts (arrows).

-

Separate exhaust system behind the catalyst, if necessary remove front exhaust system.

Remove selector mechanism from transmission as follows:
-

Remove selector rod (arrow-A-).

-

Remove push rod, to do this remove hexagon socket head bolt (arrow -B-).

-

Remove front heat shield above exhaust system.

-

Swing shift lever housing with selector rod and push rod down and remove.
