Front and Rear Seat, Lumbar Support
Squeaking Squeaking noise is heard when operating front or rear seat lumbar support.

Technical Background
May be caused by insufficient lubrication on seat lumbar tracks.
Production Solution
No production change required.
Service
Identify which seat needs lubrication by operating all lumbar supports to full travel in each direction.
Front seat, lubricating lumbar support

Remove front seat backrest cover. See Repair Manual, Group 72, Body Interior, Seat backrest cover, removing and installing.
Lubricate lumbar support tracks as follows:

Apply special grease (Part No. G 000 450 02) along length of support track - arrows- (see Illust. 72-A045 for view of lumbar support).
Tip:

One tube of special grease (Part No. G 000 450 02) will do many vehicles, therefore, it is considered shop supply.

Lumbar adjustment assembly shown removed for clarity only. Procedure is completed with assembly installed in seat back.
