Installing
t  Do not remove sealing plugs from new hydraulic unit until corresponding brake line is to be fitted.
t  If sealing plugs are removed from hydraulic unit sooner, brake fluid may escape and it may no longer be possible to fill and bleed the unit properly.
When assembling control unit and hydraulic unit, ensure that the hydraulic unit contact pins are not canted against the control unit solenoid valves.
–  Using new bolts, screw control unit to hydraulic unit. Observe specified torque max. 4 Nm.
–  Reconnect connector for hydraulic pump motor.
–  Bolt ABS unit to bracket.
–  Insert ABS unit with bracket and bolt bracket to suspension strut turret.
Do not tighten bolts completely. This will make attaching the individual brake lines easier.
–  After tightening brake lines to hydraulic unit, tighten bracket.
–  Further installation is performed in reverse sequence.
–  Bleed brake system → Chapter
–  Enter radio code.
–  Code control unit → Running gear; Self-diagnosis for ABS; Rep. Gr.01.
   
Specified torques 
For LHD vehicles: 
Control unit to hydraulic unitmax. 4 Nm
Hydraulic unit hexagon bolt to bracket8 Nm
Nut for tandem brake master cylinder to brake servo25 Nm
Brake lines to ABS unit: 
Thread M 10 x 114 Nm
Thread M 12 x 114 Nm

   
Specified torques 
For RHD vehicles: 
Control unit to hydraulic unitmax. 4 Nm
Hydraulic unit hexagon bolt to bracket8 Nm
Nut for tandem brake master cylinder to brake servo25 Nm
Brake lines to ABS unit: 
Thread M 10 x 114 Nm
Thread M 12 x 114 Nm
