Work sequence

Vehicles with manual gearbox

  • ‒ → Adjust accelerator cable by moving the retainer -arrow- at the support bracket, so that the full throttle position is attained at the throttle valve control part.

Vehicles with automatic gearbox

Work sequence

 
N20-0151
  • ‒ → Adjust accelerator cable by moving the retainer -arrow- at the support bracket, so that the full throttle position is attained at the throttle valve control part.
  • ‒ Release accelerator pedal.
  • ‒ Pull 2-pin connector off kick-down switch (F8) in engine compartment (on the bulkhead).

  • ‒ → Connect hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 with aux. cables from V.A.G 1594 to kick-down switch.
  • ‒ Check resistance at switch.
         Specification: ∞ω
  • ‒ Slowly move accelerator pedal in direction of full throttle.

Shortly after the kick-down pressure point the resistance must drop to      0 ω.
At this point the accelerator pedal must be just off the stop.

  • ‒ Release accelerator pedal.
  • ‒ Check idling speed and full throttle stops on throttle valve after adjusting.
