The radio/navigation system (RNS) combines the functions of a navigation system with that of a high quality RDS car radio.

Installed in the systems double DIN housing are

• ◆ a RDS radio receiver
• ◆ a 5-inch liquid crystal colour display
• ◆ a navigation system with GPS satellite receiver
• ◆ a CD-ROM drive for the navigation system.

A connector on the housing connects the radio, telephone and navigation operation aerial with the navigation system.

Connections are provided to extend the radio functions for a 6 disc magazine CD changer.

A TV input on the back of the housing makes possible the use of TV and Video functions.

Fault finding

The radio navigation system is equipped with self-diagnosis.

The self diagnosis must be initiated at the commencement of fault finding and the stored information interrogated with the

Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information system VAS 5051 or

Fault reader V.A.G 1551 or

Vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552.
