Brake shoes - remove and install > < Reposition the brake

Brake drum - repair
After working on the rear wheel brake:
t  Release the handbrake
t  Strongly press the brake pedal once.
   
1 - Spring dish
q   to remove, press against the compression spring and turn 90°
2 - Compression spring
3 - Brake shoe with handbrake lever
q   remove and install → Chapter
q   adjust the handbrake → Chapter
4 - Upper return spring
q   disengage with the Hook -3438-.
5 - Lower return spring
q   Lubricate supporting points with Lubricating Putty -G 000 650-. Refer to the → Chemicals Manual
6 - Drawspring
7 - Brake shoe
q   remove and install → Chapter
q   Minimum pad thickness 2.5 mm
q   Check the thickness → Maintenance with Accuracy
The pads are also supplied without brake shoes
8 - Sealing cap
q   remove to check the brake shoe thickness
9 - Elastic pin
10 - Brake support
11 - Internal hex head screw
q   8 Nm
12 - Wheel brake cylinder
q   Check the sealing → Fig.
13 - Wedge
q   to remove and install the brake drum, push upwards through a wheel screw hole → Chapter
14 - Operating rod
q   Lubricate supporting points with Lubricating Putty -G 000 650-. Refer to the → Chemicals Manual
15 - Support spring
q   disengage with the Hook -3438-.

   
Check the brake cylinder for tightness
–  Remove the sealing bellows with the Wedge -3409-.
–  If there is brake fluid in the dust protection bellows, replace the brake cylinder.
While lifting the dust protection bellows, make sure that it is not damaged.
