–  First, check if a code radio equipment is installed. If this is the case obtain the anti-theft coding.
–  With ignition switched off disconnect battery earth strap.
–  Remove battery and battery console → Rep. Gr.27.
   
–  Only lever off the cable locking mechanisms -A- or -B- if the gear selector cable, gate selector cable or cable locking mechanisms are to be renewed.
1 = 13 mm open jaw spanner, commercially available.
–  Install a second open-ended spanner or suitable pair of pliers -2- underneath.
If the above mentioned components do not require renewal:
  S34-0480
–  Secure locking mechanism on gear selector cable and gate selector cable by pulling forwards in direction of arrow 1 onto stop and then turn to left in direction of arrow 2 to lock.

–  Remove cable support bracket from gearbox -arrows-. If necessary, unclip hose -A- at cable support bracket first.
–  Remove selector lever faiter off centre console.

–  Destroy brace -arrow- and pull selector lever knob off with cover.
–  Remove centre console → Rep. Gr.68
  N34-1201
–  Remove nuts -arrows- from body selector lever housing
–  Remove insulation tray below engine/gearbox, if fitted.
–  Remove front cross supports below the exhaust system.
–  Loosen exhaust system from doble brace and lower it → Rep. Gr.26
–  Loosen front part of rear heat shield.
–  Remove front heat shield.
–  Swing selector lever housing down and remove it with selector cables.
