Removal
Removal
–  Before starting assembly jobs, ensure safety rules are observed → Chapter.
Mind the cleaning rules → Chapter.
  Note
Next, the ground cable must be disconnected. Therefore, check if a code radio equipment is installed. If necessary, the anti-theft system password must be requested in advance.
–  Disconnect battery ground cable with ignition off.
–  Fold backseat.
–  Remove fuel pump unit cover.
–  Disconnect flange connector.
–  Drain fuel container.
–  Remove rear shaft: → Chassis, Shaft, Steering; Rep. Gr.42
–  Remove right rear wheel box protector: → Body - External assembly jobs; Rep. Gr.66
   
–  Disconnect supply and return hose at front right in fuel compartment.
  Note
For that, press hose connectors keys downwards-arrows-
–  Remove rear muffler.
–  Remove left anti-thermal plate.

–  Remove screws-arrows- in the filling tap -arrows-.
–  Support fuel container with Engine-/gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383/A-

–  Remove fuel container fastening screws -arrows-.
–  Remove rubber scoop filling tap from filling tap cover unit and lower fuel container.
