Exhaust turbocharger, G-charger > < Tandem pump - remove and install|Removal
Installation
Installation
Installation occurs in a reversed order from removal, and attention must be paid to the following:
  Note
t  Ensure proper fitting of tandem pump coupling to the valve crankshaft.
t  Tandem pump joints must be replaced regularly.
–  Connect return hose -3- (blue marked) to tandem pum return connector.
–  Install tande pump and tighten upper fastening screws at 20 Nm.
–  Tighten lower fastening screws at 10 Nm.
–  Connect supply hose -2- (white marking) to supply connection, and vacuum hose -1- from servo-assisted brake to tandem pump -4-.
–  Connect supply hose -1- (white marked) to fuel filter.
–  Connect Hand-operated vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390/- withDrainage container -V.A.G 1390/1- to return hose -2- (blue marked) of fuel filter.
–  Activate manual vacuum pump, until no more fuel comes out of return hose. Ensure no fuel is sucked into manual vacuum pump.
–  Connect return hose -2- (blue marked) to fuel filter.
