Tensioner without adjustment > < Toothed belt - remove and install, adjust

Removal
Removal
–  Remove air filter body → Chapter.
–  Remove the front right wheel arch trim panel: → General body repairs, external; Rep. gr.66.
–  Mark the position of the direction of the Poly-V belt and remove it → Chapter.
–  Remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold.
Vehicles with air conditioning
–  Remove the tensioning roller from the Poly-V belt.
Continuation for all vehicles.
–  Remove upper cover from mechanical distributor.
   
–  Remove crankshaft pulley.
–  Remove lower cover to mechanical distributor.
–  Disconnect cooling system lines from the engine cylinder head.
–  Screw lifting eyelets in the place of the cylinder head cooling system pipes. Tightening torque: 25 Nm

–  Place the Support -VW 061 (VWB) - ou - 10-222A- as illustrated and support the engine in the assembly position.
–  Remove coolant expansion tank (hoses remain connected).
  N15-0589
–  Secure the engine a little and loosen fastening screws -A-.
  S10-0105
–  Loosen fastening screws -B- and also the complete subframe.
–  Remove engine support in the cylinder block.
–  Mark the operation direction of the toothed belt.
–  Loosen the belt tensioner and remove the toothed belt.
