Installation
  Note
t  The blind holes of the engine cylinder head screws on the engine block should not contain any oil or coolant.
t  The new engine cylinder head gasket must only be removed from its package immediately before its installation.
t  Handle new gasket extremely carefully. Damages will cause leakage.
–  Cover the cylinders with clean cloths to prevent any dirt or powder residue from infiltrating the space between the cylinder walls and the pistons.
–  Likewise, do not let any dirt or powder residue enter the cooling system circuit.
–  Carefully clean the engine cylinder head and the engine block sealing surfaces. Take care not to cause long splines or scratches. (if sandpaper is used, grit should not be less than 100).
–  Remove carefully the remaining residues from sanding operations.
–  If the crankshaft was turned: Place the piston of the first cylinder in TDC and turn crankshaft slightly backward.

–  To centre, screw in the Guide screws - 3450/2A- in the front outer holes of the cylinder head screws.
–  Place the new gasket in the engine head.
–  Install the cylinder head, insert the remaining 8 cylinder head screws, and tighten by hand.
–  Remove the Guide screws -3450/2A- with the Puller -3450/3- through the screw holes. To this end, turn the extractor to the left until the pins are removed.
–  Install the two remaining cylinder head screws and tighten them also by hand.

–  Tighten the engine cylinder head screws according to the following sequence:
–  Tighten all screws to 40 Nm.
–  Then, turn all the screws by a further 1/4 of a turn (90°) with a spanner.
–  Finally, turn all the screws once more, by 1/4 of a turn (90°).
The rest of the assembly occurs in the reverse order of disassembly.
  Note
When turning the camshaft, the crankshaft should not place any cylinder in the TDC position. Risk of damages to the valves/pistons.
Installing the timing belt and adjusting distribution times → Chapter.
–  Install the engine support in the engine block. Tightening torque 50 Nm.
–  Install the engine assembly cushions.
  Note
Tightening torque for the subframe pads → Chapter.
–  Install Poly-V belt → Chapter.
Filling the cooling system → Chapter.
–  Please refer to the failure memory → Chapter.
