Checking sequence
Checking sequence
–  Remove the fuel supply nozzle lid.
   
–  Initially disconnect the vent hose -1- for the activated charcoal filter on the Magnetic valve 1 for the activated charcoal reservoir -N80--2-.
–  Then, connect the Vacuum pump - VAG 1390- or Vacuum pump -VAS 6213- and the Vacuum gauge -VAG 1368- to the hose -1-, as shown.
–  Place the Vacuum gauge -VAG 1368- in -A/B- position.
–  Operate the Vacuum pump -VAG 1390- or Vacuum pump -VAS 6213- several times. No vacuum may be generated.
In case of vacuum formation:
–  Check the ventilation opening -3- at the bottom of the activated charcoal filter -4- for dirt and, if necessary, clean it.
In case of absence of vacuum:
–  Cover the ventilation opening -3- and operate again the Vacuum pump -VAG 1390- or Vacuum pump -VAS 6213- several times. Vacuum must be generated.
In case of absence of vacuum:
–  Replace the activated charcoal filter.
  Note
If the fuel tank level is low, the Vacuum pump -VAG 1390- or Vacuum pump -VAS 6213- must be activated approximately 20...30 times.
If there is vacuum:
–  Replace the fuel reservoir nozzle lid.
