Checking process
Checking process
–  Remove air filter assembly → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect 4-pole connector from ignition transformer -arrow-.

–  Remove 4-contact connector from cooling fluid temperature sensor -G62- with cooling fluid temperature indicator sensor -G2--arrow-.

–  Couple Digital potentiometer -V.A.G 1630/- with Measuring appliance set -V.A.G 1594/C- to contacts 3+4 of connector using and adjust connected side to 15kΩ.
–  Disconnect injector harnesses on the fuel distributor.
–  Remove complete fuel distributor with all injectors of engine head (fuel tubes remain connected). → Chapter.

–  Keep a small graded container below the injector to be tested and remove connectors from remaining injectors.
–  A second person must activate start engine. Injector must inject in pulses.
–  Repeat test with other injectors. Ensure only injector being tested is connected.
–  Next, check injectors leak-proof capability. Maximum allowable leak is 2 drops/minute.
If fuel loss is higher:
–  Turn ignition off.
–  Replace damaged injector. → Chapter, position 5.
Injector installation happens in removal reversed order, considering the following:
t  Sealing rings of all injectors must be replaced and slightly lubricated with clean engine oil.
t  Insert injectors vertically in correct position into fuel distributor, and immobilize with safety fasteners.
t  Install fuel distributor with injectors on engine head and press evenly.
