Removing undamaged rear window
  Note
If it is intended to re-use the window, make sure that the electrical connections are not damaged.
–  Remove roof spoiler of Polo Blue Motion → Chapter „Removing side piece of roof edge spoiler, Polo Blue Motion“.
Remove rear lid trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove rear window wiper → Vehicle electrics; Electrical system; Rep. gr.92.
–  Disconnect connections -2- on left and right for the rear window heater and fasten them to window with adhesive tape.
–  Depending on the equipment, disconnect the connections for the aerial -3- and fasten them to rear window with adhesive tape.

   
–  Push awl -V.A.G 1474/2--1- through adhesive bead -arrow- in area of panel aperture for heated rear window connection -2-.
–  Pull cutting cord -3- through adhesive sealing material to inside using awl -V.A.G 1474/2--1-.

   
–  Secure end of cutting cord -3- against falling out using pull handle -V.A.G 1351/1--1-.
–  Lay cutting cord -3- around window and guide second end of cord inwards.
–  Fasten end of cutting cord to reel device -V.A.G 1654 A--2-.
–  Place reel device -V.A.G 1654 A--2- in indicated position.
–  Turn reel device -V.A.G 1654 A--2- accordingly and cut window glass free.
–  Use wedge -V.A.G 1474/5- to press cutting cord -3- against window glass while cutting in order to have a certain amount of clearance at window flange.
