Removing and installing moulded headliner (4-door models)
Removing and installing moulded headliner (4-door models)
Removing
–  Remove front interior and reading light → Electrical system; Rep. gr.96.
–  Remove lights for make-up mirrors → Electrical system; Rep. gr.96.
–  Remove rear interior light -W43- → Electrical system; Rep. gr.96.
–  Remove sun visors → Chapter.
–  Remove interior mirror:
t  Interior mirror without rain and light sensor -G397- → Chapter.
t  Interior mirror with rain and light sensor -G397- → Chapter.
–  Remove upper A-pillar trims → Chapter.
–  Remove roof grab handles → Chapter.
–  Release upper B-pillar trims from mountings (4-door models) → Chapter.
–  Remove roof end strip → Chapter.
–  Fold bench seat forwards.
   
–  In vehicles with interior monitoring, unscrew bolts -1- and -2- (3 Nm).

–  Remove retaining clip -1- beneath roof end strip.

–  Unclip cover caps -1- and -4- with removal wedge -3409- and remove inner sun visor bearings -2- and -3-.
  Note
If caps -1- and -4- become damaged while being removed, these must be renewed.
–  Lower moulded headliner with the help of a second mechanic (danger of breakage) and pull out from C-pillar trim in direction of travel.

–  Remove moulded headlining -1-, with help of second mechanic, from vehicle through rear lid.

Installing
–  Install in reverse order of removal.
