Removing and installing vacuum pump
Removing and installing vacuum pump
  DANGER!
The vacuum pump may, under no circumstances, be dismantled as the vacuum part could otherwise malfunction. This would result in the failure of the brake servo.
Removing
–  Remove air filter housing together with air mass meter and connecting pipe → Chapter.
   
–  Pull vacuum line -1- off vacuum pump -2-.
–  Unscrew securing bolts of charge air pipe, and then push charge air pipe down slightly to gain access to rear threaded connection of vacuum pump.

–  Unscrew vacuum pump securing bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove vacuum pump -2- from cylinder head.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:

t  Ensure that vacuum pump coupling seats properly in camshaft.
t  Renew vacuum pump seal.
–  Install vacuum pump and tighten securing bolts to 10 Nm.
–  Connect brake servo vacuum line to vacuum pump -1-.
