Removing and installing exhaust gas temperature sender 3 - G495-
→ Chapter „Tightening exhaust gas temperature sender 3 - G 495-“
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Tool set, 17 mm -T10395-
Removing
–  Remove Lambda probe -G39-.
–  Disconnect electrical connector -1- for exhaust gas temperature sender 3 -G495- and free electrical line.

–  Unscrew exhaust gas temperature sender 3 -G495--item 1- using tool from 17 mm tool kit -T10395-.
  Note
Disregard -item 2, 3-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Specified torque → Chapter.
  Note
Fit all cable ties in the original position when installing.
  Caution
Loose exhaust gas temperature senders cause malfunctions.
Threads of exhaust gas temperature sender -G495- and -G648- are coated. Do NOT additionally coat with high-temperature paste and always adhere to the prescribed tightening torque.

Installation position of temperature sender -G495--item 1-:
l  Angled end to left-hand side of vehicle.
l  Angle -α- to marking -arrow- = approx. 17°.
–  Install Lambda probe -G39- → Rep. gr.23.
