Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
Observe safety precautions → Chapter.
  Note
t  All hose connections are secured.
t  Charge air system must be free of leaks.
t  Renew self-locking nuts.
t  Before screwing on oil supply line, fill turbocharger at connection with engine oil.
t  After installing turbocharger, run engine for about 1 minute at idling speed to ensure that oil is supplied to turbocharger.
   
Assembly overview - turbocharger
1 - Turbocharger
q   Can only be renewed together with exhaust manifold and vacuum unit.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
2 - Vacuum unit
q   With position sender for charge pressure positioner -G581-
3 - Connector
q   To position sender for charge pressure positioner -G581-
4 - Heat protection
q   Renew if damaged.
5 - Gasket
q   Renew.
6 - 20 Nm
7 - Connecting pipe
q   To exhaust gas recirculation cooler
8 - Exhaust gas temperature sender 1 -G235-
q   45 Nm
q   Tighten exhaust temperature sender 1 -G235- → Chapter.
9 - 10 Nm
10 - Bracket
11 - Heat shield
12 - 10 Nm
13 - Turbocharger support
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Before installing oil supply line, ensure that it is not blocked.
q   Before installing, fill turbocharger with engine oil through oil supply line connection.
14 - O-rings
q   Renew with banjo bolt.
15 - Banjo bolt, 60 Nm
q   Renew complete with O-rings.
16 - Oil return pipe
17 - 20 Nm
18 - Banjo bolt, 30 Nm
q   Renew complete with oil seals.
19 - Seal
q   Renew.
20 - Oil supply line
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Before installing oil supply line, ensure that it is not blocked.
21 - Pulsation damper
22 - 9 Nm

1 - Damper with grooves
2 - O-ring
3 - Seal with spring

Installation position of exhaust gas temperature sender -G235- with angled cable guide
  Note
When installing the exhaust temperature sender with angled cable guide, adhere to dimension -a- of 3 … 5 mm from the turbocharger support threaded connection.
