Removing and installing ancillary bracket (bottom)

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque wrench (5 … 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-

Removing

–	Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.

–	Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.

–	Remove air conditioner compressor → Heating, air conditioning; Rep. gr.87

Note

The air conditioning system lines must not be opened.

–	Secure air conditioner compressor to lock carrier.

–	Ensure that lines are not kinked.

–	Unscrew securing bolts -1- and remove bracket.

Installing

–	Fit ancillary bracket to cylinder block.

–	Tighten securing bolts -1- to 25 Nm.

Specified torque for tensioning element → Item

Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
