| The engine control unit -J623- is equipped with self-diagnosis. |
t
| For trouble-free operation of electrical components, a voltage of at least 11.5 V is necessary. |
t
| In some tests, a fault may be detected and stored by the engine control unit -J623-. Therefore after completing all checks and repairs the fault memory must be read and if necessary cleared. |
WARNING To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the injection and ignition system, the following must be observed: |

| Do not touch or disconnect ignition cables when the engine is running or being turned at starter speed. |
t
| Switch off ignition before connecting or disconnecting injection and ignition system wiring as well as test instrument cables. |
Note the following if testers and measuring instruments have to be used during a road test: |
Test and measuring instruments must always be secured to the rear seat and operated by a second person from this location. |
