  WARNING
The injection system consists of a high-pressure section (maximum approx. 120 bar) and a low-pressure section (approx. 6 bar).
Prior to opening the high-pressure area, the fuel pressure in the high-pressure area must be reduced to a residual pressure of approx. 6 bar. The appropriate procedure is described in the chapter on releasing pressure in the high-pressure section → Chapter.
   
1 - 20 Nm
2 - Fuel hose
q   Low-pressure.
q   With spring-type clip.
3 - Spring-type clip
q   Remove and install with hose clip pliers -VAS 6340-.
4 - Union nut, 25 Nm
q   Observe safety precautions → Chapter.
q   Counterhold when loosening connection to high-pressure pump.
5 - Union nut, 25 Nm
q   Observe safety precautions → Chapter.
q   Counterhold when loosening connection to high-pressure pump.
6 - High-pressure pump with fuel pressure regulating valve -N276-
  Caution
Only grasp high-pressure pump on housing when removing and installing!
When the high-pressure piston spring package loosens the high-pressure pump will leak and must be replaced.
q   Remove and install → Chapter
7 - O-ring
q   Renew.
q   Lightly coat with engine oil when installing.
8 - Roller tappet
q   Lightly coat with engine oil when installing.
9 - Connector
