| q | To improve timing case guidance, secure sump in position with two bolts. |
| 5 - | Seal |
| q | Renew if damaged. |
| 6 - | Cap |
| q | Renew seal if damaged. |
| 7 - | Oil filter, 20 Nm |
| q | Remove and install using wrench -3417-. |
| 8 - | 10 Nm |
| 9 - | 10 Nm |
| 10 - | 150 Nm + 1/2 turn (180°) further. |
| q | Removing and installing crankshaft pulley → Chapter |
| q | Renew. |
| q | Contact surface for securing bolt must be free of oil and grease. |
| q | Oil threads before inserting. |
| q | Secure belt pulley against turning with counterhold -3415-. |
| q | The turning further angle can be measured with a commercial protractor. |

| q | Removing and installing crankshaft pulley → Chapter |
| q | Contact surfaces must be free of oil and grease. |
| q | Secure against turning with counterhold -3415- when removing and installing |
| q | Removing and installing poly V-belt → Chapter. |
| 12 - | Seal |
| q | Renewing → Chapter. |
| 13 - | Bearing bush |
| q | Contact surfaces must be free of oil and grease. |
| 14 - | O-ring |
| q | Renew. |
| 15 - | Oil separator |
| q | With vacuum valve. |
| 16 - | 10 Nm |
| 17 - | 20 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further |
| q | Renew. |
| 18 - | Chain sprocket |
| q | Removing and installing → Chapter. |
| q | For oil pump. |
| q | Lock with counterhold -T10172-. |
| 19 - | Drive chain |
| q | Removing and installing → Chapter. |
| q | For oil pump. |
| q | Before removing, mark direction of rotation (installation position). |
| 20 - | 15 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further |
| q | Renew. |
| 21 - | Oil sump |
| q | Clean sealing surface before fitting. |
| q | Install with silicone sealant D 176 600 A1 → Chapter |
| q | Metal oil sump: Tighten securing bolts to 13 Nm. |
| 22 - | Oil drain plug, 30 Nm |
| q | With attached seal. |
| q | Renew. |
| 23 - | Oil pump |
| q | Removing and installing → Chapter. |
| q | Renew complete only. |
