t  Torque wrench (5…50 Nm) -V.A.G. 1331-
Removing
  WARNING
Fuel supply lines are under pressure! Wear eye protection and protective gloves to avoid injuries and skin contact. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully pulling hose off connection.

–  Remove fuel supply line -2- and catch escaping fuel with a cleaning cloth.
  Note
Press in securing ring to release fuel line.
–  Seal lines so that no dirt is able to enter fuel system.

–  Pull connectors -arrows- from all injectors.
–  Unclip wiring harness of injectors.
–  Undo bolts holding fuel rail to intake manifold.
–  Pull fuel rail together with injectors out of intake manifold.

–  Pull off retaining clips -arrow- and remove injector.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
–  Renew the O-rings at all opened connections.
–  Lubricate the O-rings lightly with clean engine oil.
–  Observe proper installation position of injectors.
–  Make sure retaining clips are properly connected.
–  Position fuel rail together with injectors (properly secured) against intake manifold and press into place evenly all round.
–  Insert and tighten bolts holding fuel rail to intake manifold. Specified torque: 7 Nm
–  Bleed fuel system → Chapter.
