Removing and installing headlight range control motor
  Note
If control motors are removed and installed or renewed, always perform the headlight basic setting with a beam setting appliance. Angle of inclination is embossed on headlight housing.
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
–  Remove headlight → Chapter.
   
–  Remove cover cap -2-.

–  To release, turn control motor -1- in direction of -arrow-.

–  When removing control motor, pull ball head of positioning pin out of catch on reflector.
–  Disconnect connector -2- of headlight range control motor.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal. When doing so, make sure that ball head of control motor is engaged into ball head receptacle of reflector base plate.
–  Pull out reflector backwards and hold it securely.

–  Carefully insert ball head of control motor -2- into ball head mounting -1- in direction of -arrow- and lock control motor in direction of -arrow-.

–  Reinstall cover cap -2-.
  Caution
When installing cover cap, ensure cap is seated correctly. The ingress of water will lead to permanent damage to the headlight.
–  Check functions of control motor.
–  Checking headlight settings and adjusting if necessary: „Maintenance manual“ → Booklet
