Renewing side light bulb
The left side light bulb -M1- and the right side light bulb -M3- can be checked by the final control diagnosis for the onboard supply control unit -J519-.
  Note
t  The illustrations show how to change the bulb of the left headlight.
t  The bulb of the right headlight is replaced in the same way.
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
–  Remove headlight → Chapter.
   
–  Remove cover cap -2-.

–  Taking connected wiring length into consideration, pull bulb holder -1- together with side light bulb backwards out of reflector.

–  Pull side light bulb-2- in direction of -arrow- straight out of bulb holder -1-.
Installing:
  Caution
When installing cover cap, ensure cap is seated correctly. The ingress of water will lead to permanent damage to the headlight.
  Note
Do not touch bulb glass when fitting bulbs. Fingers leave traces of grease on the glass, which evaporate when the bulb is switched on and cause the glass to cloud over.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing observe the following:
–  Check headlight functions.
–  Checking headlight settings and adjusting headlight if necessary „Maintenance manual“ → Booklet
