Replacing individual sender retainers up to 07/2009
Note the following when renewing individual sender retainer in bumper cover in case of repair:
Assigning sender bracket to fitting location in bumper cover
   
The 4 sender retainers are available in different forms and must be assigned to the respective fitting location in the bumper cover. The sender retainers are marked on the inside with characters to simplify the assignment.
A - RL - right outer
B - RRC - right centre
C - RLC - left centre
D - RL - left outer
Bonding sender retainer
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Centring pin -VAS6614/3-
The preparation of the bonding surfaces and the bonding process must be undertaken considering the following processes.
–  Remove all adhesive remains of the old retainer from inside of bumper cover.
–  Thoroughly clean the bonding surface with isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol).
–  Pull protective film from one side of the double-sided self-adhesive pads and bond the adhesive pad to the contact surface of the sender retainer.
–  Note correct position for bonding sender retainer.
–  Pull off 2nd protective film of self-adhesive pad.
–  Align sender retainer on punched hole in bumper cover with centring pin -VAS6614/3-.
–  Press sender retainer onto bumper cover for approx. 10 seconds using a high pressure.
  Note
The pressure and the period are critical for the bonding properties!
