Trailer detector control unitJ345
Trailer detector control unit -J345-
The trailer detection control unit -J345- is located behind the right side panel trim in the luggage compartment.

General description:
The trailer detection control unit -J345- only detects „Trailer operation“ as of a power decrease of at least 5 W → Remark. It passes this information on to diverse control units via the CAN data bus.
The trailer detector control unit -J345- is supplied with information (light control) from the onboard supply control unit -J519- and convenience system central control unit -J393- via the CAN data bus.
1)  „Trailer operation“ can only be detected if at least turn signal indicators or side marker lights are switched on.
Fault detection and fault display:
The trailer detector control unit -J345- features self-diagnosis to facilitate fault finding.
To localise faults, refer to chapter entitled „Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system“ and use „Guided fault finding“ function.
  Note
For checking control unit, use socket tester -V.A.G 1537/A- or trailer socket tester -VAS 5800-.
