In isolated cases, the fuel pump supply hose (enclosed in fuel tank) has detached from the fitting connected to the fuel pump check valve...

This condition is possible on vehicles between:
VIN3--DE096135 to VIN3--DE186005.

In existing cases, the detached hose and fitting must be replaced with Part
Number:

321 201 351A.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Location of replacement hose assembly to fuel pump must be at 90~ angle to driving direction; toward left side of vehicle.

This routing prevents replacement hose from interfering with fuel gauge sender operation.
WARNING

Disconnect battery when working on fuel system. Never smoke when working with fuel or have anything in area that can ignite it.

Always replace seals. Replace fuel hose clamps when necessary.
