Explanatory notes for "PR.-No." on vehicle data plate

Depending on engine and equipment, various suspensions are installed. They are indicated by the PR numbers.

PR numbers determine the allocation of specified values for vehicle.

Suspension version installed in vehicle is indicated on vehicle data plate by corresponding PR no. for front axle.

The vehicle data sticker is located in spare wheel well and in Maintenance booklet.

Test Prerequisites

Test Prerequisites

Suspension, wheel bearing, steering and steering linkage checked for excessive play and damage.

^

Tread depth difference may be no more than 2 mm on an axle.

^

Tires inflated to prescribed pressure.

^

Curb weight of vehicle.

^

Fuel tank must be full.

^

Spare tire and vehicle tools are installed in appropriate position in vehicle.

^

The water container for the windshield/headlight cleaning system must be full.

^

Be sure that sliding plates and turn tables are not touching end stop when checking wheel alignment

CAUTION! Test equipment must be properly attached and adjusted; observe equipment manufacturers instructions!
If necessary, contact manufacturer for familiarization with the proper use of the equipment.
After a certain period, wheel alignment platforms and computer equipment can lose their original leveling setting and adjustments.
Wheel alignment platforms and wheel alignment analyzer/computer should be serviced and calibrated at least once a year.
Treat these highly sensitive units carefully and conscientiously!

Note:

Camber correction is only necessary after service work on body. Camber is not adjustable but can be rearranged by moving brackets and/or
subframe!

^

Move subframe only toward left or right, do not move in or away from direction of travel under any circumstance!

Remove noise insulation.

Loosen bolts -1- for bracket mount/subframe on body on both sides.

Camber adjustment possibilities are limited by tolerances of holes in brackets and subframe. If specified value is not reached by moving components,
