Final Drive Fluid: Service and Repair
Rear Differential
Rear Final Drive Oil Level, Checking and Filling
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench 5-50 Nm VAG 1331
Requirements

The final drive must be in the installation position.

Remove the gear oil inspection plug -arrow-.
The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled to the lower edge of the fill hole.

Install bolt -arrow- and tighten to 40 Nm.
When filling, note the following:

Remove the bolt -arrow-.
-
Add oil until it reaches the lower edge of the fill hole.
-
Install bolt -arrow- and tighten to 40 Nm.
