R32 4Motion V6-3.2L (CBRA) (2008)
Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Injection & Ignition - Fuel Supply System
Delivery Quantity, Checking
-
Voltage supply OK.
-
Fuel pressure regulator and residual pressure OK.checking See: Fuel Pressure Regulator and Residual Pressure, Checking
-
Fuel filter OK.
-
Remove fuel filler cap from fuel filler tube.
-
Open the cover of the relay and fuse panel in the engine compartment E-box.
-
Remove fuse SB6 in position F6 on fuse holder.
-
Connect remote control V.A.G 1348/3 A with adapter cable V.A.G 1348/3-3 to the left terminal (in direction of travel) of fuse socket F6 - arrow -.
-
Using insulating tape, tape over the second contact of connection V.A.G 1348/3-3 to prevent a short circuit.
-
Connect alligator clip to vehicle battery B+.
NOTE: Delivery rate of Fuel Pump (FP) is measured at 4 bar. Therefore the fuel pressure must be checked before measuring the delivery rate.
CAUTION: Fuel system is under pressure. Wear protective goggles and protective clothing to prevent injuries and contact with skin.
Before removing from hose connection wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully pulling hose off
connection.
-
Disconnect return line - 1 - from fuel pressure regulator.
NOTE: Press in securing ring to disengage the fuel line.
-
Connect adapter set V.A.G 1318/17A to fuel pressure regulator and hold end of adapter in a measuring container.
-
Run the remote control V.A.G 1348/3A approximately 5 seconds to fill the fuel filter.
-
Empty the measuring container.
-
Delivery rate of Fuel Pump (FP) is dependent on voltage. Therefore connect multi-meter to battery.
-
Operate remote control for 30 seconds and measure battery voltage.
