Shift Mechanism Overview

Shift Mechanism Overview - 02E, 6 Speed DSG A/T AWD

1 - Shift cover with knob

The cover is unclipped for emergency release.

^

Before removing the handle, pull the button out past its pressure point and secure with cable ties or wire

^

Do not press the button in. Otherwise, the handle will have to be disassembled and prepared for installation with the button pressed in.

2 - Selector lever and selector mechanism

With Shift Lock Solenoid N110

^

Short description for removal and installation:

-

Remove center console.

-

Remove cable from transmission.

-

If necessary: Disconnect or remove.

-

Remove heat shield at bottom of vehicle.

-

Adjust selector lever cable after installing.

3 - Bolt with spring

^

3 Nm

4 - Pin

^

Do not grease

5 - Securing plate

^

Always replace after removal

6 - Nut

^

9 Nm

^

Quantity: 4

7 - Shift housing

^

With seal

8 - Lock washer

^

Always replace after removal

9 - Lock washer
