Selector lever cable must always be adjusted if:

The selector lever cable was removed from the transmission.
^
The engine and/or transmission were removed and installed.
^
Parts of the subframe mount were removed and installed.
^
The cable or selector mechanism was removed and installed.
^
Engine/transmission positions changes, e.g. were installed free of tension.
Adjusting

Shift the selector lever to the "P" position.
Shift lever on transmission into "P".

Press the lever on the transmission back -arrow- to bring the transmission into the "P" position.

Install cable with loosened adjustment screw -arrow- and new lock washers -A- and -B-.
Note: Raise vehicle to ensure that transmission is in the "P" position (parking lock is engaged). Both front wheels must not be able to be turned
together in one direction.

Lightly tap button of knob forward and backward and make sure to keep knob in position "P".
This locates the cable in its optimal position.

Tighten adjustment screw -arrow- to 13 Nm.
