Remove locking pin T40069 and install screw plug - 1 - on cylinder block at rear.

The rest of installation follows reverse of removal procedures.

Tightening torque

Secure crankshaft for checking/adjusting valve timing

Remove cylinder head cover.

Perform work steps for "Secure crankshaft".

Note:

If threaded holes in camshafts - arrows - do not stand upward, crankshaft must be rotated one rotation (360°) in direction of engine rotation.

In order to be able to precisely check and adjust valve timing, always note the following:

Turn crankshaft only in direction of engine rotation - arrow -. Do not rotate crankshaft back, not even slightly!
