Some vehicles may experience a rolling noise or vibration upon disengagement of the clutch, especially when shifting at higher RPM...

Rabbit and Pickup vehicles with 1.6L Diesel engines are equipped with modified clutch operating levers since April, 1981 production.

For customers who experience this type of noise or vibration, install balance weight (arrow), Part No. 020 141 781, on clutch operating lever as shown.

If vehicle is not equipped with modified lever arm, install later version lever, Part No. 020 141 701 G, for 4-speed transmission or Part No. 020 141 701
H for 5-speed transmission.

Beginning with model year 1984 production, balance weights are installed on all Turbo-Diesel Rabbits only.
