Condition
Hood is Ajar Indicator Light ON, Remote Start Inoperative
Hood is ajar indicator illuminated on dash panel. Remote Start is inoperative.
Technical Background
Customer may comment that the hood is ajar indicator light is ON or that the remote start function is inoperative intermittently. The remote start function
is disabled if the hood switch position is in the open position
Production Solution
Change in production, hood ajar switch 9R500370/CW33/09.
Service
Some customers may exhibit the condition described above.
Check for fault codes and perform normal diagnosis.
Inspect the connector at the hood ajar switch for improper connection, damage or loose wiring harness end connectors, and perform the repair as
described below.
Procedure

Open the hood.
^
Disconnect the wiring harness end connector.
^
Remove the hood ajar switch by squeezing both tabs and lifting out of the switch bracket.
^
Install new hood ajar switch Part No. 7B0 959 747E.
^
Reconnect the wiring to the hood switch.
^
Close the hood.
^
Check hood ajar indicator light and verify remote start system is working to specification.
