Rear
1.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.
2.
Remove parking brake cable clip, then disconnect parking brake cable.
3.
Remove upper mounting bolt from brake caliper housing, then swing caliper upward and lift out pads, Fig. 5.
4.
Install pads in pad carrier, then push piston fully into caliper bore.
5.
Swing caliper over pads, then install new mounting bolt and torque to 26 ft. lbs.
CALIPER, REPLACE
1.
Remove two caliper to brake pad carrier mounting bolts.
2.
Disconnect brake line from caliper, then remove caliper from vehicle.
3.
Reverse procedure to install and bleed brake system.
CALIPER OVERHAUL
1.
Remove caliper as outlined previously.
2.
Remove piston dust cup from piston assembly.
3.
Position a suitable piece of wood between piston and outer caliper flange, then apply low pressure compressed air to fluid port and carefully blow
piston out of cylinder.
4.
Using a plastic rod, pry piston seal out of cylinder bore.
5.
Slide dust cap onto piston, then coat new piston seal and piston with brake cylinder paste and install into cylinder bore.
6.
Assemble caliper to brake pad carrier, then bleed brake system.
