Rest Position

To check the zero position, first remove the air flow sensor boot, then energize the fuel pump for about 10 seconds to build proper fuel pressure.

Distance measured between upper edge of sensor plate, and bottom edge of venturi cone should be 1.9 to 3.0 mm (0.075 to 0.118 in) Fig. 9..
Note; An ordinary U.S. nickel (approx. 2 mm thick) can be used to set the sensor plate height adjustment.

To adjust the rest position:

a. Late style - use adjustment screw under the sensor plate to adjust the height of the stop spring.

b. Early style - bend the stop spring retaining clip, Fig. 27..

If the sensor plate height is changed, the idle speed and mixture must be re-adjusted.
