In vehicles without radio, remove panel in center of instrument panel.

Remove the glove compartment.

Bring flexible shaft into the following position:

-

Turn the air distribution knob - 1 - until the shaft locking mechanism - 2 - is visible in the step-up gearing -  3 -.

Remove controls for hot air and fresh air. Refer to => [ Heater Controls ] See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Control Assembly/Service and
Repair/Heater Controls.

Reach into center console and release retaining tab - 1 - by pressing in direction of arrow.

Pull flexible shaft out of adapter - 2 -.

‹› When installing flexible shaft, adapter and rotary switches on controls for hot air and fresh air must have a specific position to each other,

otherwise it will malfunction. Refer to=> [ Flexible Air Distribution Shaft, Checking ] See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Testing and
