Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)

‹› Fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136)

‹› Headrest guides are shown removed to provide a better illustration.

Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136 ) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095 ).

Remove front seat => [ Front Seat ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seat

Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair ( VAS 6136).

Remove the front safety belt latch => [ Front Seat Belt Latch ] See: Restraint Systems/Seat Belt Systems/Seat Belt Latch/Service and Repair/Front

Remove the trim on the tunnel side => [ Tunnel Side Trim ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Tunnel Side Trim

Remove the lumbar adjustment lever, if equipped => [ Lumbar Adjustment Lever ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Lumbar

Passenger seat without height adjustment

Remove the backrest adjustment wheel => [ Backrest Adjusting Wheel ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Backrest Adjusting

Remove the trim on the door sill side => [ Front Sill Panel Trim ] See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Scuff Plate/Service and Repair/Front Sill Panel

Passenger Seat with Pass-Through

Front seats with manual height adjustment

Electric Driver Seat

Remove the trim on the door sill side => [ Front Sill Panel Trim ] See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Scuff Plate/Service and Repair/Front Sill Panel

Disconnect the two harness connectors for the backrest drives underneath the seat frame. Remove the harness connectors from the seat frame.

All vehicles

-

Remove backrest => [ Backrest ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Backrest

-

Attach the backrest to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

Remove the backrest and folding table, if equipped => [ Backrest Folding Table ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Backrest
