Lower Instrument Panel Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Trim removal wedge (3409)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove side instrument panel covers => [ Instrument Panel Side Covers ] See: Instrument Panel Side Covers

-

Remove glove compartment => [ Glove Compartment ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Glove Compartment/Service and
Repair/Glove Compartment

-

Remove steering column trim gap cover from instrument panel => [ Steering Column Trim ] See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering
Column/Steering Column Cover/Service and Repair. It is not necessary to remove the complete steering column trim.

Remove the Light Switch (E1).

-

Remove right trim panel on driver's side => [ Driver Side Left Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and
Repair/Driver Side Left Trim

Remove the heat and A/C controls trim => [ Heater and A/C Controls Trim ] See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Control Assembly/Service and
Repair/Heater and A/C Controls Trim

Remove the center console cover => [ Center Console Cover ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center
Console Cover

Remove the trim on both sides of the footwell => [ Footwell Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and
Repair/Footwell Trim

Vehicles with a center console without a center armrest

Remove the center console, without center armrest => [ Center Console without Armrest ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /
Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center Console without Armrest

Vehicles with a center console with a center armrest 

-

Remove the DVD player if present.

-

Remove the CD changer if present.

-

If present, remove the mount for the "Apple" " iPOD player"

Remove the storage compartment with USB connection.

-

Remove the multi media system control module, if present.

Vehicles with multi media system

-

Remove the multi media control head.

Vehicles with Converter with Socket, 12V, 230V (U13)

-

Remove the Converter with Socket, 12V, 230V ( U13).
