Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair

Solenoid Valve and Sensor Wiring Harness

Removing

-

Drain the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling ] See: Automatic
Transmission/Transaxle/Fluid - A/T/Service and Repair/09M,09MA Transmission/Automatic Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling.

-

Remove the valve body. Refer to => [ Valve Body ] See: Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Valve Body/Service and Repair/Valve Body.

Disconnect the connector from the transmission.

1 - transmission sensor terminal

2 - connector for solenoid valves

-

Disconnect the connector housing from the transmission.

-

Disconnect the connector housing together with the wiring harness outward from the transmission housing.

Installing

-

Replace the seal on the connector housing.

-

Carefully guide the wiring harness from the outside into the transmission.

-

Lubricate the connector housing seal with ATF and then press the connector housing all the way into the transmission.

Connect the connector housing. Tightening specification, refer to => [ Fastener Tightening Specifications ] See: Automatic
Transmission/Transaxle/Valve Body/Specifications/Fastener Tightening Specifications - Gears, Hydraulic Controls.

Install the valve body. Refer to => [ Valve Body ] See: Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Valve Body/Service and Repair/Valve Body.

Add the ATF, check the ATF level and top off if necessary. Refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] See:
Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Fluid - A/T/Service and Repair/09M,09MA Transmission/Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and
Filling.
