Oil Pressure at Engine Face, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Oil pressure gauge (VAG 1342)

‹› Adapter (VAG 1342/19)

Test Sequence

-

Remove covers in engine compartment.

-

Remove noise insulation --> [ (Item 14) Noise insulation ] See: Cylinder Block Assembly/Service and Repair/Engine Valley Components
Overview from cylinder heads.

-

Remove oil channel sealing plug - A - from cylinder bank to be tested.

CAUTION!
The oil channel hole indicates a very low thread depth. adapter (VAG 1342/19) should not be installed too tightly due to the danger of
damaging the threads. Max. 14 Nm

Connect oil pressure tester (VAG 1342) with adapter (VAG 1342/19) into oil channel hole.

-

Seal test hole for oil pressure switch on oil pressure tester (V.A.G 1342) using engine sealing plug.

-

Start engine.

Oil pressure must not reach below a value of 1.4 bar at 1000 RPM and 80 °C oil temperature.

-

After the test, install channel sealing plug - A - with new seal.

‹› Tightening specification: 14 Nm
