ESP-Sensor Unit G419, Removing and Installing

ESP-sensor unit G419, removing and installing

The sensor for transverse acceleration G200, sender for rotation rate G202 and longitudinal acceleration sensor G251 are installed in a housing under
the center console.

When exchanging the ESP-sensor unit G419, a basic (default) setting of the sensor for transverse acceleration G200, sender for rotation rate G202,
and longitudinal acceleration sensor G251 must be performed.

CAUTION: Severe shakes/jolts can destroy sensor for transverse acceleration G200, sender for rotation rate G202 and longitudinal 
acceleration sensor G251.

Removing

-

Remove center console.

-

Remove airbag control unit and set it a little forward.

-

Disconnect connector - 1 - off ESP-sensor unit G419.

-

Remove two securing nuts - arrows -.

-

Remove ESP-Sensor unit G419.

Installing

-

Installation is in reverse sequence to removal.

When installing ESP-sensor unit make sure it is correctly seated in its bracket and is free of stress.

Do not use the securing nuts to forcibly position the ESP sensor unit.

Tighten securing nuts to 8 Nm.

Perform basic (default) settings of sensor for transverse acceleration G200, sender for rotation rate G202, and longitudinal acceleration sensor
G251.
