Crankshaft Seal Retainer: Service and Repair

Sealing Flanges and Drive Plate, Assembly Overview

‹› Engine is to be secured to Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095) for performing assembly work.

‹› Replace

Sealing flange

‹› With seal

‹› To remove and install, remove oil pan --> [ Oil Pan, Assembly Overview ] See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service and Repair

‹› Must be located on alignment bushings

‹› Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth

‹› Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of sealing ring

‹› To install, use provided support sleeve

‹› Support sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto crankshaft pin.

‹› If sealing flange is not replaced, use assembly tool (T10122) to install --> [ Crankshaft Seal, Vibration Damper Side ] See: Seals and
