‹› Locking pin (3242)

‹› Torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

-

Remove engine --> [ Engine, Removing ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine
Removing.

-

Separate engine from the transmission.

Set engine to TDC. For this, notches - A - and -  B - must stand across from one another.

‹› Turning the engine over is performed at the centered bolt of the crankshaft. 

‹› Turning the engine over must only be performed in clockwise direction.

Remove sealing plug - arrow -.

‹› Behind the sealing plug, the TDC hole is located in the crankshaft  (can be felt).

-

Install crankshaft holder (3242) into  crankshaft.
