Camshaft Position Sensor: Procedures

Ignition Components, Removing And Installing

NOTE:

-

Cylinder bank 1 is located on right side in direction of travel.

-

Cylinder bank 2 is located on left side in direction of travel.

-

Components marked with * are tested via On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Diagnostic mode 3: Check DTC memory.

3-pin harness connector

Terminals are gold-plated

Secured to fuel tank with retainer straps

Knock Sensor (KS) 1 -G61-*

For cylinder bank 1

-

Contact surfaces between knock sensor and cylinder block must be free of corrosion, dirt and grease

Wire to 3-pin harness connector secured to coolant pipe

Tightening torque affects function of Knock Sensor (KS)

Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 2 -G163-*

Terminals of sensor and connector are gold-plated

For intake camshaft, cylinder bank 2
