Camshaft Position Sensor: Removal and Replacement

Camshaft Position Sensor Seals, Replacing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Seal remover (2085)

‹› Seal installer (3241)

Work procedure

Left cylinder head

-

Pull connectors off from ignition coils and fuel injectors and lay  wiring harness aside.

-

Disconnect connector from Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor.

-

Remove Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor housing with cover and cone. 

On right of cylinder head

-

Remove right toothed belt cover.

-

Disconnect connector from Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor.

-

Remove bolts - 1 - from Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor. 

-

Remove bolts - 2 - from rear toothed belt cover. 

-

Pull rear toothed belt cover slightly forward and remove Camshaft  Position (CMP) Sensor housing with cover and cone.

Continuation for both cylinder heads

-

Install adapter (2085/1) as shown.
